A review of Manpower UK Ltd by Kerry Mcgraw written on Friday 13th of March 2015
My Daughter was employed by manpower in February this year, she had undertaken training in the Dundee branch of BT as a calls advicer in the broadband department for 3 weeks. She became unwell and was hospitalised for a week and underwent an operation, she was advices to rest for another week after being discharged and was given a hospital insurance line, she followed proper procedures with a daily update via phone call on her recovery and was very down about not being at her work as she was really enjoying her new post. They were very sympathetic, and were supportive on the phone. On her return to work she received a letter informing her of a disaplinary meeting which was held two days later and to her absolute shock was dismissed on the spot, they told her it was due to not having the time to fully train her, she was very upset and shocked, I think this is a appauling way to treat a young lady who had been through an unexpected illness and was very hard working in her short time there. The policies at manpower state that they will not dismiss anyone on the spot unless it's grounds for gross misconduct!!! I do not think in my daughters case this was in any way an act of gross miss conduct. Very disgruntled mother.
